Cool news! I’ve been selected to take the main stage at TED Active next week in Palm Springs to give a talk about the work we do to increase American voter turnout at Why Tuesday. The title of my talk is “Why Vote Tuesday? We Shouldn’t.” I hope to see you there Tuesday February 28th at 9:30AM.
All this week on AMC in the lead-up to the Oscars I’ll be interviewing nominated filmmakers, actors and writers. Here’s a preview of my talk with Gary Oldman, best actor nominee for his role in Tinker Tailor Solider Spy. I love eyeglasses (as you know) so I had to ask Oldman about the awesome ones he wore as secret agent George Smiley.
Not in this clip: Oldman told me he got the glasses at a vintage place in Pasadena called Old Focals. Ask for Russ, he said.

Great to be home & see this view. Couldn’t get the sunrise because the lock to the terrace was jammed this morning. But I’ll be back in action tomorrow.

Late last year I was asked to travel to Phoenix to speak at TEDxPhoenix. The topic of the day’s speeches was “Ask _____ For A Change,” and of couse I filled in the blank with the word “Why” as a starting point to discuss the work we have done at Why Tuesday? to increase American voter participation. I’ll be giving a follow-up talk later this month at TEDActive in Palm Springs.
