I'm working to fix America's education system on School Pride on NBC, correspondent of AMC News on AMC & executive director of Why Tuesday?, a non-partisan group working to increase voter participation. I've contributed to NPR Weekend Edition and to the PBS series WIRED Science. I got my BA in politics and MA in political theory and philosophy from New York University. Please join me and these other awesome speakers Tuesday in NYC from 4-6PM for this event at Baruch College! I’ll be talking about how nonprofits can use online video like we did at Why Tuesday? - and more. No promises about how to interview President Obama, though. You can RSVP online here.

After speaking about Why Tuesday? at the Personal Democracy Forum last month in New York, I sat for an interview with Andy Plesser of Beet.TV, the website and vlog that explores “the root of the media revolution.” In our interview I talk about how, in Andy’s words, our “little video blog powered the agenda for election reform.”

Personal Democracy Forum 2009

PDF09 Join me and many friends of Why Tuesday? next week at the Personal Democracy Forum in New York City. You might remember we were there last year, too. I’ll be speaking June 30th on the panel Online Video: Lessons from the Obama “Idea Factory” and 2008 Campaign. While I’m there, I’ll be tweeting on the Why Tuesday? twitter account, so follow along!

This year’s conference is focused on the theme of “We.gov” and all the ways campaigns, elections, media, advocacy and governance are becoming more open, participatory and collaborative. Click the PDF09 logo to check out the impressive list of keynote speakers.

Sitting in the Allen Room panel discussion called Mastering the New World of Online Political Video. Steve Grove of YouTube and the Why Tuesday? advisory board is moderating. NewsBusters, Brave New Films and TPM TV are the panelists. I’m speaking in the Idea Market during the next session.
